Ames up one slot in world rankings

He climbed one place up the ratings to No 33.

In his last outing, he finished 41st at the British Open before travelling to his native TT for the annual Stephen Ames Cup Junior tournament in which Trinidad and Tobago played Canada.

American Tiger Woods, who captured the British Open for his 11th Masters triumph, retains his position at the head of the ratings for a world record 402nd week.

Phil Mickelson, of the United States of America (USA), and Fiji’s Vijay Singh are still second and third respectively in a Top-ten that remains exactly the same as it was last week.

Ames has earnings this year of US$2.22 million and is 13th on the money leaders’ list that is being led by Woods at US$4.26 million, followed Americans Jim Furyk (US$4.17m) and Mickelson (US$4.12m).
