Body found on bench in UWI

Police reports revealed that at about 7.25 am, students discovered the body of 23-year-old Pradeep Jadoo of Aranjuez on the bench.

Officers of the Tunapuna Police Station were summoned to the scene along with detectives from the Homicide Bureau. Sources said a syringe, vial and what appeared to be medication were found next to the body. Jadoo, sources said, was a Type-1 diabetic. His relatives refused to be interviewed yesterday. Jadoo was last seen alive on Tuesday. Police officers have ruled out foul play in the death of Jadoo. He is believed to have died after going into a diabetic coma.

An autopsy carried out by pathologist Dr Eastlyn Mc Donald Burris revealed he died of a toxic substance introduced into the bloodstream via an injection.

A UWI release yesterday stated that security officials at the campus were working with police who are investigating the incident. The release also extended condolences to Jadoo’s friends and relatives.
