If I could turn back the hand of time

THE EDITOR: If I could turn back the hands of time then Trinidad and Tobago would not be so bad
And in this modern time, we would not have had so much crime
And our country would have still been the sweet paradise
Where travellers and tourists love to come and listen to calypso and sweet steelpan
If I could turn back the hands of time then the cost of living would not be so high
And the politicians would not be so selfish and bad
And might have more time to focus on what is best for the citizens of Trinbago
And in this current time we would be able to reap and enjoy the fruits of our hard labour and working hands
And might be able to buy food to last us for sometime
But although it’s so sad, that we live in such hard times
Unable to turn back the hands of time
Maybe if we try so very hard we could come together and work hand in hand
Doing the best that we can, to build our land
The best that we can!
