Something wrong at Point Fortin Hospital
Once again the medical ward at the institution has been evacuated and the ward closed down. Something is absolutely wrong and you owe it to the people of Point Fortin an explanation.
Because of the closure of the ward, patients who are supposed to be admitted there have to be transferred to the casualty department to an already overcrowded San Fernando General Hospital where patients remain all day on a trolley before they are admitted to the ward.
Just last week a patient came to emergency department with a heart attack and after initial treatment at Point Fortin had to be transferred to San Fernando, but no ambulance was available because they had already left with other patients.
Therefore, this same patient had to be transported in his own vehicle with oxygen and IV infusion because the relatives were getting anxious and concerned.
Now Mr Rahael do you think this is fair? I can go on and write and write about similar episodes that take place there on a regular basis. Point Fortin people deserve to be treated better than this. We voted PNM all our lives and to me they have turned their backs on us.
