‘Good news’ at St Ann’s Hospital

After all the negative comments that have been bandied about, for so many years, it was heartening to hear recently how much conditions for staff and patients at the St Ann’s Hospital are improved.

The Government has kept its promise although everything is not all completed. A friend of mine, a geriatric nurse shared with me how happy she is working there.

All uniforms and meals are supplied for staff, and the patients receive three healthy and nutritious square meals a day, plus because of real love between nurse and patient, the majority of them improve quickly, are more helpful, and even some remove fear of trusting by helping around too.

Some have bluntly refused to go home, even when discharged because as they say they are happier there, than home with family who ill treat them or ignore them.

My friend I know is a favourite. She knows all the patients in her ward by name, chats with them and they look forward to seeing her every day even to sing to her. Educating families of patients is a must.

We need more good news people.
