TT finalists chosen in Carib Model Search

Pulse supermodel and the new Banana Republic campaign star Nadine Willis, was a special guest at the festival, which also featured the traditional Emerge party on the second night (as well as a fashion presentation on the first night which featured designs by Mutamba, Zadd and Eastman, The Millhouse and Claudia Pegus. Staged under a tent at the Port-of-Spain Marriott, the second night also featured a young designer showcase as well as the Model Search and Emerge after party.

The finalists are Master’s student Janine Mitchell — 5’10”; Tyker Phillip — 5’ 8,” student; Gabriela Gonsalez — 5’ 7” a law student at the UWI; Shari Demas — 5’ 9”; Pearl Joseph — 5’ 7” a casino dealer; Sue Ann Solomon — 5’ 9”; Nichola Sammy Ifill — 5’ 11 a nutritionist; and Bianca Walker — 5’ 11” a medical student.

On completion of the series, the winner will travel to Jamaica, along with other winners from Guyana, St Vincent, Barbados, St Lucia, The Bahamas, St Kitts, Cayman, Antigua and The Dominican Republic to challenge the Jamaica winner for the right to be called The Caribbean’s Next Supermodel, the title earned by the winner of the Pulse bmobile Caribbean Model Search. That challenge will be played out over another six-week reality TV show, to be shot in Jamaica on location at Villa Ronai and the Hilton Kingston Hotel.

Reduced from the original group of more than 3,000 entrants seen across Jamaica, the finalists were selected after further eliminations to a top 100 and then a top 50.

Entry to the bmobile Caribbean Model Search is still open as contestants can attempt to secure a place among the semi-finalists of the live event (Jamaica Fashion Model, Petite Jamaican Fashion Model and Male Face of Jamaica) which culminaties with the finals on August 26 at the Hilton Kingston Hotel.
