EPA meets with Airports Authority today
The resumption of talks follows two days of sick out by guards at Piarco. Tobago was also affected. Last Thursday, 38 guards assigned to the night shift stayed off the job and police and soldiers were called out to provide support.
On Saturday, EPA secretary Carolia Cadogan said the association expects today’s talks with management to deal with outstanding money and hiring additional staff. Staff shortages have resulted in guards having to work additional shifts and being overworked.
Cadogan said the EPA would like the recruits approved by the AATT brought on staff so current workers can get their “necessary rest and time off.”
