Man stable after shooting

Two men who were held for questioning in connection with Lancaster’s shooting have been released.

Lancaster was shot on Monday night by a gunman near his Lastique Road home.

According to police reports, Lancaster was relaxing in front of his house when he was approached by a gunman at 10.30 pm. He was shot at point blank range in the nose, and the bullet exited through his neck.

Lancaster was rushed to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and remains warded in the ICU. The Besson Street Police Station is continuing the investigations.

Meanwhile, officers of the Belmont Police Station are probing the shooting of a soldier attached to the Special Anti-crime Unit (SAUTT), who is warded at PoSGH.

The man was shot near his St Francois Valley Road home in Belmont.

According to police reports, the soldier was walking along a track to his home in Chinatown at 11.15 am Tuesday, when he was confronted by three men.

The soldier attempted to run, but was shot in the left leg.

The men fled the scene and are still at large.

The Belmont police is continuing the investigations.
