Panday: I’m waiting on Dookeran
Panday met with Dookeran on July 24 in an attempt to mend the rift in the UNC.
In an interview yesterday, Panday said he called for Dookeran yesterday and was waiting on him.
He admitted that he had been busy with his court case. He said his aim is to unite the party and would like to see it working as one to remove the People’s National Movement (PNM).
On June 28, the UNC Executive approved a motion of no confidence in Dookeran, Panday said he could not comment on the motion since he is not a member of the executive. He also said he did not know what will happen at the UNC’s national assembly (scheduled for August 19) because he had no office.
The UNC executive has put on hold its attempt to remove Dookeran from the executive and is awaiting the outcome of Panday’s talks with him.
