Beating report sent to CoP

Choon, 49, a father of two, was allegedly attacked by police at about 1.30 am last Friday while riding his bicycle heading home along Ackbar Trace, Old Siparia Road.

Choon claimed he was kicked about the body by two policemen who then threw kerosene in his pants. The officers later threatened to set him alight.

The written report on the incident was submitted by Inspector Cooper of the south western police division. It is expected that this report would also be forwarded to Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Geoffrey Henderson for instructions on whether or not charges should be laid.
