Coke trial nears end

The judge commenced summing up of the case yesterday in the San Fernando High Court.

The three accused men have claimed the drugs were found on the high seas and they had planned to hand them over to the police.

The accused men are Ramesh Soobnarinesingh, 37, his brother Parsram Manoo, 25, and brother-in-law Learie Lincoln Andrews, 32.

The trial began two weeks ago in which the State alleged the three men were seen placing the drugs on a piece of plastic at the back of a house. State Attorney Narrissa Ramsundar is prosecuting while the three are being defended by Prakash Ramadhar, Brian Debideen and Chateram Sinanan.

Yesterday, Carmona dealt with the case as put forward by the State.

Today he will continue with the evidence given by the accused and defence witnesses.
