Man fined $1,000 for ganja
Alan Trim appeared before Port-of-Spain Magistrate Avason Quinlan at the Fourth Court charged with possession of four grammes of the illegal narcotic.
The 35-year-old man was held on August 8 after he was found with a black bag containing marijuana in St Joseph. The bag, which was searched by PC Bremnor of the St Joseph police station, was strapped around Trim’s shoulder and contained a foiled packet with the drug.
When approached by Bremnor, Trim asked whether or not he would be locked up for only a five piece. He was taken to the Benson Street Police Station where he was subsequently charged.
