Cuban doctors head home

He said Trinidad is like his second home and if the Cuban Government would only give the all clear he would make Trinidad his home. During his stay he fell in love with TT and Carnival. He played mas, and was always present for the parade of bands and Panorama for the three years he spent here. “The people are warm and friendly and this made me feel like home,” Guillan said.

However, he did not leave without making observations and recommendations during his practice, which he shared with the Eastern Regional Health Authority.

He asked that pregnant mothers be given the opportunity for ultrasounds and that patients receive dressings more regularly. Guillan is happy to be with his family again but at the same time, sad to leave sweet Trinidad. He promised to return some day.

CEO, Eastern Regional Health Authority, Ronald T’Soi-A-Fatt extended special thanks to the Cuban doctors and said all the reports he read were excellent on both doctors. “They carried out their duties with responsibility, dedication and dignity. All that was said about them by their seniors were positive,” he said. On the issue of ultrasound T’ Soi-A- Fatt said presently the authority is making arrangements, for training in this area.
