According to the former national batsman, a maximum of 12 teams will participate in the tournament.

Matches will take place on Saturdays and Sundays with a starting time of 1 pm.

The runners-up of the final, which is tentatively set for October, will pocket $1,500 while the beaten semi-finalists will each earn $500 for their efforts.

Each team, comprising no more than 25 players, will need to fork out $500 as their registration fee, with entry forms available at Bert’s Sports Centre, Jubilee Building, Main Road, Chaguanas.

Deadline for registration is August 18.

Super League on hold

ACTION IN the TSTT Super League has been cancelled until August 27, because of the staging of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Youth Cup.

The Youth Cup will run from August 14 to 26 and the Super League officials decided to put the season on pause for the next fortnight.

Annual draughts today

THE FIFTH annual draughts competition, under the auspices of the Port-of-Spain City Corporation, will take place today at 10 am.

Venue for the day-long event will be the Auditorium, City Hall, 2-4 Knox Street.

The tournament is part of the City Day activities in commemoration of the corporation’s 92nd anniversary.
