Phoenix Park honours its residents

Under the presidency of Baldeo Sairsingh, this organisation organises annually, a grand Christmas treat for the children of the district, assists needy residents with medical bills, distributes hampers to the under privileged at Christmas, presents gifts to successful SEA students of Phoenix Park Government School, honours citizens who have made a significant contribution to the growth and development of the district over the years, pays tribute and honours citizens over 75 years of age, assisted in the organisation of a Community Council, assists financially persons who have major surgery and generally does everything possible to keep Phoenix Park as a well knit community.

Among members of the Executive is Ousman Ali, the son of Imam Tyab Ali and Ms Ali, who resided in Phoenix Park from early, and a former diplomat and High Commissioner of India. He thanked the contributions made by several sponsors over the past decade “who have always helped us to fulfil our obligations to the residents of the district.” Gifts were presented to senior citizens while certificates went out to those who have been assisting the Organisation to carry out their function with effectiveness.
