CAPE results coming soon

The officer could not give the exact date for the release of results but assured it should be within the next few days.

Principals obtained copies of results of the 2006 Cambridge General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level examinations last Friday from the London-based University of Cambridge’s website using codes released to them by the Ministry of Education.

The Ministry has started phasing out the GCE exams to be replaced by CAPE, which resulted in the majority of students writing Advanced Level exams, under both GCE and CAPE. Students are currently awaiting results of CAPE to determine thier overall performance at exams, while principals need the results to ascertain their school’s performance at Advanced Level exams.

An official at the ministry’s Examination Section told Newsday the original hard copy certificates for GCE Advanced Level exams had come into the country, but had to be cleared by Customs and Excise before becoming available to the ministry for distribution. The official could not give the status of the hard copies or on-line availability of CAPE results, but confirmed they would be released soon.
