PoS Corporation blanks Ramesh

Maharaj made this announcement in Couva yesterday where the sixth leg of the march ended. Condemning the Corporation’s refusal as an “evil act”, Maharaj who is leading the march on behalf of the Civil Rights Association, said the Corporation gave as its reason for the refusal, tomorrow’s sitting of Parliament.

Maharaj said he recieved a letter from the corporation revoking permission to assemble at Woodford Square tomorrow. Maharaj told marchers he requested from the Coporation, another venue to assemble, but this was denied as well.

Maharaj said that he had found an alternative venue, but would not disclose it.

“I have the right facility, to use in the heart of the city and PNM territory,” he said. Yesterday’s march ended in Isaac Junction, Couva.

The march resumes at ten this morning and will end at Munroe Road intersection. Yesterday’s march saw the mother of murdered six-year-old Sean Luke, Pauline Lum Fai, joining in the protest as well Fareed Mohammed — father of shot Charlieville fisherman Shazad Mohammed.
