Seven arrested in drug raids

A team of officers from the Crime Suppression Unit made the arrest during an execise between 2 am and 4 am in Marabella, La Romaine and San Fernando.

Five men — ages 21, 22, 24, and 26 — were arrested for possession of cocaine. A 36-year-old man of Bayshore, Marabella, was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Then at Pemberton Street, La Romaine, police arrested an 18-year-old man for possession of three live rounds of ammunition.

The seven arrested were expected to appear in the San Fernando Mag-istrate’s Court yesterday on the charges.

The exercise was led by Inspector Singh and Sgt Soodeen, and conducted by Cpl Licourice and PCs Victor, Seedharie, Joseph and De Boulet.
