4 held for vending

Police reports said that the men — aged 21, 24, and 26 — who were selling DVDs, CDs and slippers, were held on High Street, while a female vendor offering snacks, drinks and avocados near the San Fernando General Hospital was arrested.

They were held at about 11.30 am in a police exercise headed by ASP Sidney Corbett and led by Sgts Gabriel and Lively and Cpl Harripersad of the San Fernando City Police Division.

The persons arrested were charged with offences of footway obstruction, pitching a stall, and offering marketable commodities for sale without a licence granted by the San Fernando City Corporation.

They are expected to appear before a San Fernando magistrate today to answer the charges.
