Boynes lauds Ganga’s team

In a letter to Deryck Murray, president of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board, Boynes noted: “Victory eluded our young valiant team, only by the narrowest of margins, and their Guyanese opponents had to produce their very best cricket to win the final.

“The tremendous competitiveness of our team helped to produce an unforgettable final that will do much for the regional game.”

Team captain Daren Ganga came in for high praise by Boynes. “Ganga led from the front throughout the tournament and his men produced the level of inspired batting, bowling and fielding that has brought Trinidad and Tobago to the top of regional cricket,” Boynes said.

Boynes congratulated the players for the on-field display, stating: “Our team showed the highest level of cohesiveness, togetherness and commitment to each other and to country, which warmed the hearts of us all.”

“We wish, therefore, to unreservedly congratulate every member of the team, including the technical staff, and the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board, led by (Murray), for demonstrating so well in this tournament what high-calibre cricket teams and strong nations are made of,” he ended.
