Your threat is a hollow media event. You should have resigned one year ago when you declared yourself as an “independent” UNC along with your colleague, Gillian Lucky. The integrity which both of you hold dear to your hearts demand that you surrender your seats and seek a new mandate.

So long as you, Gillian Lucky, Gerard Yetming, et al sit anywhere in the parliamentary chamber you owe your seats to the venerable old man Basdeo Panday. And that goes for Manohar Ramsaran, Ganga Singh and Winston Dookeran. Fuad, don’t wait a day longer. Send your resignation now to the competent authority and force a by-election.
