Schoolboy gunned down
And late yesterday evening, a man was shot dead on the Old St Joseph Road in Laventille.
Also, in a separate incident yesterday, the bullet-riddled body of a man was found in an area known as “Hellyard,” Beetham Estate.
The schoolboy was killed at 8.15 pm on Monday. Reports revealed that Keno Richards, a student of the Rose Hill Primary School, was with Nigel King, 26, when Richards walked towards a nearby bar.
Richards reportedly attempted to rob patrons at the bar but was stopped in his tracks by a member of the notorious Gambino gang.
Richards was shot in the back and died on the spot.
King, who was standing nearby, was also shot and is now warded at the PoSGH.
Officers of the Homicide Bureau as well as a district medical officer went to the scene and cordoned off the area. Richards’ body was ordered removed to the Forensic Science Centre.
Relatives of Richard and King refused to be interviewed yesterday. Investigators told Newsday that arrests are imminent in the killing.
Also dead is Michael McKenna, of Phase V, Beetham Gardens. According to reports, McKenna was shot multiple times on the Old St Joseph Road, and was rushed to the Port-of Spain General Hospital at about 6 pm yesterday, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Morvant police are investigating.
Meanwhile, Beetham residents at “Hellyard” heard gunshots at 2 am yesterday, and found the body of a man on the ground in the area.
