Trainer fined $500, apprentice rider banned

Following a meeting of the Authority on Monday, Khan was hit with a $500 fine and severely warned that he must respect the office of stewards and racing officials at all times.

The budding trainer had an alleged misunderstanding between himself and the racing veterinarian regarding a pre-race veterinary inspection on August 10 last. According to TTRA secretary David Loregnard, Khan was told that any similar report against him “will be more sternly dealt with.”

Jadoo was found not guilty for his ride on 2Sharp in Race 6 on Arima Race Club Day 20 on July 15.

The young apprentice finished third in the Conditional Handicap “D” over 1750 metres behind winner Kylie Wylie sho survived an objection, and Skippy.

But he was suspended from riding “until further notice” for failing to report to Apprentice Jockey Training Committee chairman Selwyn Raymond on a consistent basis.

The TTRA found Jadoo not in breach of the Rules of Racing riding 2Sharp, but warned him he should at all times give his best to his mounts.

Jadoo (C) was told he had a responsibility to punters apart from owners and trainers.

He was reminded he must ride in a manner to always protect his integrity.

As a result of his suspension, Jadoo (C) will miss the big Sagicor Independence Day meeting.

Both the President’s Cup and the Santa Rosa Classic for West Indies-bred three-year-olds will hold the spotlight on the day.
