Chaitlal takes top Mastana prize

The final programme which took place at the Gulf City Shopping Complex on Wednesday was packed to capacity. Neval gave an outstanding performance when he performed the Mohammed Rafi tune “Madhuban Me Radhika,” skillfully singing the intricate ragas of this song as they were recorded in India.

The 19-year-old on Wednesday evening thanked the Mastana Bahar production team for giving him the opportunity to display his talents and also praised his parents.

He said he is going to make a recording of his music in due course.

Minister of Culture and Gender Affairs Joane Yuille-Williams presented Chaitlal with his prize. Dancer Sneha Rao Adidam who placed second won $25,000 from Super Industrial Supplies and Kishanna Bhimul took the third prize, $15,000 from Rajiv Jewelry. Saxophonist Narindra Maharaj placed fourth winning $10,000 from Solo Beverages.

The charming Reshma Ramsarran took the winning prize of $10,000 at the Miss Naturally Fair competition.

Roshini Badoo placed second taking the prize of $5,000 plus a ticket to New York and Radica Rampaul placed third winning $ 5,000.
