Critical at Hospital

A male employee who preferred to remain anonymous reported that at about 4pm yesterday Clive Allen and his four employees were making a cook — a fish broth — at the back of his funeral agency, when a well-dressed man came through the front door of the agency garage and began shooting.

Everyone scampered as they ran in different directions for cover. Allen it was reported ran behind his van, but the gunman went after him shooting him in the head. He subsequently fell to the ground, and the gunman made his escape.

An employee said he was calling the secretary to open the door, but everyone was hiding in fear for their lives.

The male employee said when he saw that all was clear he rushed to Allen’s assistance. He found Allen in a pool of blood. The blood was oozing from his forehead and some substance was coming from his eyes. He seemed to be lifeless.

The police EHS Ambulance was summoned but it failed to respond. As a result Allen had to be rushed to the Sangre Grande Hospital in one of the agency’s vehicles.

Allen was later transferred to the Port-of -Spain General Hospital where last night he was reported as being in critical condition.

A Party of police officers headed by Inspectors Rojas Luke, Fermin Roy and other members of the Task Force and CID rushed to the scene and are continuing investigations.

A National Security helicopter was involved in the search for the gunman.

Allen was recently kidnapped but he successfully escaped from his kidnappers. Four persons have been charged with the kidnapping offence.
