ERHA pharmacist wins Caribbean award

This conference, however was a landmark for Trinidad and Tobago and the Eastern Regional Health Authority (ERHA) as our very own Lochan was announced winner of the Caribbean Hospital Systems Pharmacy Care Award–an award for outstanding contribution to hospital pharmacy practice, in addition to the recipient of The Caribbean Pharmacy Spirit Award–for outstanding contribution to the public sector. Lochan was selected out of a group of pharmacists from the following countries: Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Dominica, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname.

Out of this large field of persons Lochan was chosen for the award. The Caribbean Association of Pharmacists was formed at a meeting of several leading pharmacy figures in the English–speaking Caribbean in Kingston, Jamaica in 1976. From the early 1960s, several island states gained independence from their colonial masters and others received various degrees of self -government.
