POLICE STOP LA BREA FETE

Some of them hurled abuses and obscene language at the promoters and the police.

The “Lake Splash” party is organised by Lake Asphalt of Trinidad and Tobago 1978 Limited Sports Club (LATTSC). A senior police officer attached to the South Western Division, yesterday told Newsday that about 5 pm, a contingent of police officers reported for duty at the party’s venue – opposite the sports club.

The promoters, a police report stated, failed to produce the “Bar and Dance Floor” licence when asked to do so by a police sergeant.

According to a senior police officer, there were one police inspector, one police sergeant and 20 police constables assigned to provide security at the event. Efforts to reach the LATTSC’s secretary, Ashley Webb, yesterday proved futile.
