Williams coaches karatekas to success

BKD fielded 11 athletes and took home 21 trophies, all first and second places in kumite (free sparing) and kata (formal exercices).

The BKD competed in the traditional karate division.

Their representatives were Daniela Belen, Daniel Belen, Darian Richardson, Sharnae Pegues, JoAnna Morgan, Andrew Morgan, Frederick Belen, Carlos Ugas, Stevano Kilpatrick, Sergio Kilpatrick, and Shelby Mansdoerfer.

BKD referees were Natasha Abdool, Yvette Morgan and Stevani Richardson.

The coach was Trinidad and Tobago’s internationally recognised Sensei Darryl Williams.

The Trinidad and Tobago Karate Alliance (TTKA) would like to inform the public that Sensei Darryl Williams will be representing the TTKA later this year at the World Union of Karate-Do Organisation (WUKO) International Championships as a coach and referee.

Also, in related news it was announced that Keshni Sookram is no longer the current general-secretary of TTKA. She resigned in June.

The TTKA delegation to WUKO will be selected from among candidates residing in Trinidad and Tobago, USA and England where TTKA has affiliates.

The TTKA wish to state that we have the full confidence in Sensei Williams as TTKA international representative and are very satisfied with his performance.

He is ranked 6th Dan by WUKO.
