SJBA salutes people of TT

In a statement yesterday, the Association saluted all those who played instrumental roles in ensuring the peaceful transfer of power from our colonial rulers to that of able-bodied men and women who were indigenous to these shores. The SJBA noted the impressive progress made by the nation after Independence in terms of the standard of living and the right of every citizen to enjoy the freedoms and privileges of a free society.

Trinidad and Tobago has done well in the international arena, the Association said, and has made extraordinary strides in economic growth, development, culture, sports, education and peaceful existence — a feat which has made us the envy of many.

The SJBA also reminded the national community that the four cornerstones of character upon which the structure of this nation was built are initiative, imagination, individuality and independence, adding that the authorities and people must make every effort to ensure our safety and security.
