A national charity fund

With the current increasing wealth of our tiny island one would expect that some sort of relief or assistance would be provided to our fellow countrymen/women. Yes, they are our countrymen/women, even in their present state and we, the people of Trinidad and Tobago should do something to help them.

My simple suggestion is for the government to institute a system whereby the working population of TT makes a small contribution each month out of their salary. A simple amount of $5 for the lower paid and $10 from those above a certain income would go a long way in making TT a better place to live.

That’s just five less doubles for the month or buying a two piece special instead of a three piece. If for instance there would be 400,000 contributors to the fund, this number multiplied by the minimum of $5 would equate to $2,000,000. This can go a very long way in improving the welfare of all involved.

How many times have you wished to provide assistance to someone, but for some reason you didn’t, this is the avenue through which everyone can help. Higher authorities, I urge you, please take notice of this suggestion.
