Necessary Arts in tenth cycle

The school which was opened in 2002, trains individuals in the areas of acting, voice, movement, pan, scanting, video production and airbrush.

Necessary Arts School, which is led by four women, has since mounted nine productions including this year’s Cacique nominated, Penelope Spencer’s “Jest in de Circus” and “In de Blink of an Eye.” The school, through its Entertainment Theatre Comp-any (ETC), which is directed by Penelope Spencer, plans to focus on more outreach projects both in stage and television production.

Due to its specific interest in the rehabilitation process of at-risk youths, the school has decided to continue to honour its commitment to intake no less than ten young people into its at-risk scholarship programme which was made possible by members of the private, corporate and government sectors.

Registration for the tenth cycle has started and participants are accepted on a first come first serve basis. The programme is open to individuals who are six years and older.

The courses come in packages of two to four workshops weekly depending on your package plan.

Classes are offered as an after-school option for secondary school students, after work hours for those who are employed and on Saturdays for primary school students.
