PoS City Corp pays tribute

The honourees included PCS Starlift Steel Orchestra — celebrating its 50th anniversary and Chee Mooke Bakery which celebrating its 75th anniversary. The winners of the fifth annual Draught Competition, which was held on August 13, were also presented with trophies and monetary prizes.

In Category A of the Draught Competition, the third placed winner, Anthony Aqui, received $1,500 and Learie des Vignas, the second placed winner, received $2,500.

In first place was Dickson Maughn who won the competition for the third consecutive time. Maughn is also the National Draught Champion of Trinidad and Tobago. In Category B, the first, second and third-placed winners were Andrew Leslie Oliviero, Dale Marcellin, and Roger Quamina respectively. In the women’s category, Aquila Murray gained the third prize of $600 while Ingrid John won the second prize of $800. Anita Ramsundar won the first prize of $1,300 which was sponsored by ALGICO. All winners received trophies.

Starlift’s public relations officer, Rolph Clarke, accepted a plaque from Mayor of Port-of-Spain, Murchison Brown on behalf of the steel orchestra.

Natalie Phillips of Chee Mooke Bakery also received a plaque. Also honoured were three employees of the City Corporation who saved trash compactors from destruction.

Lastly, Brown introduced 16-year-old Abraham Fergusson who is TT’s Ambassador for the Natural Disaster Youth Summit.
