Huge crowd in Scarborough for fireworks

The streets were literally crammed as Tobagonians from far-flung areas across the island converged on the capital for the main attraction – the CLICO-sponsored fireworks display which was held at the Scarborough port.

A section of the lower Milford Road area, downtown, was closed to traffic, with several DJs scattered along the resulting freeway providing musical entertainment.

A free cultural show at the Scarborough Esplanade – featuring leading groups and artistes in the island – put on by the THA Division of Culture, provided an appropriate build-up to the fireworks display.

While, uptown, at James Park, a gospel show also attracted a large crowd.

Scarborough came to a virtual standstill with traffic congestion as people from the countryside sought transport to get home following the fireworks display which lasted some 25 minutes.
