La Liga comes to the Caribbean

This is being made possible in an historic deal for the region involving DirecTV which has secured an exclusive agreement for the broadcast of the 2006-7 season.

The Spanish league featuring some of the biggest football stars in the world including Ronaldo and Ronaldinho of Brazil, David Beckham of England and Samuel Eto’o of the cameroon is arguably the world’s leading club championship.

The Spanish League features matches filled with excitement as many of the players who appeared in the FIFA World Cup Finals in Germany earlier this year will clash once again.

Football fans can also see Roberto Carlos, Cicinho, Robinho, and Emerson of Real Madrid, Marquez, Edmilson, Deco, Messi and Saviola of Barcelona, Maxi Rodriguez of Atletico de Madrid, Adriano of Sevilla, Ayala of Valencia, Riquelme and Sorin of Villareal and Aimar and D’Alessandro of Zaragoza. This service is only available on DirecTV with up to five simultaneous matches at the traditional Sunday afternoon 1 pm kick-off time on channels 680-686.

The action continues later with the Sunday evening match at 3 pm local time, and on Monday as well. Throughout the week, DirecTV will replay featured matches on prime time on Channel 680, just in case fans missed them.

The La Liga coverage is available to all customers with the DirecTotal basic package at no extra cost.
