Moosai takes top honours
While at FMU, Moosai was an active member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honour Society and the National Black Graduate Student Association. He also has several publications in the Miami Herald, the FMU Lion’s Tale Newspaper, the Miami-Dade Music Waves Newsletter and the VSA Arts of www.florida.com.
Moosai, who also graduated from FMU in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Popular Music, also conducted scholarly research on elementary students in memory activities and reading strategies to assist struggling readers. He also taught at Biscayne Gardens Elementary School, where he was named “Rookie Teacher of the Year 2005-2006”. In addition, he is the recipient of two grants from the Educational Fund in Florida worth approximately US$400.
The 22-year-old plans to pursue his doctorate in Education at Florida Atlantic University in 2007 while teaching Mathematics to elementary school students. He is also in the process of writing and publishing his very own music book.
