Local artiste wins animation award
Leizelle Guinness captured the eyes of judges in an Adobe/Cut & Paste sponsored event to win the people’s choice award with 412 votes.
This has been the first time that a graphic designer from this region has gotten recognition since this competition’s inception.
The piece was directed by Christopher Guinness a 2007 AAF Gold Addy award winner for animation, special effects, video and film and CAF Addy Judge’s Choice for Best Art Direction.
The winning 15 second piece titled Choootsies, was developed using Adobe Photoshop, After Effects and Adobe Illustrator.
It was posted on Cut & Paste’s website (http://swp.cutandpaste.com /winners) and viewed by millions all over the world. Entries from across the globe including United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, The Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, India, and Turkey took part in the competition that has been the industry gold standard for over 20 years.
A spokesman for the competition said that the “submissions were impressive and set a high standard in design and animation in showing just what is possible.”
