AIA, Petrotrin face-off at Arima

Caledonia is currently in fourth position with 28 points, and they will be keen on today’s game since their original meeting against Petrotrin, last Tuesday, was cancelled due to the absence of match officials.

Petrotrin’s new coach Leroy Carpette will also try to halt his team’s downward spiral with full points, as they look to remain in contention for the league crown.

The earlier game at Arima will feature two lower-placed squads, eighth- placed Defence Force against ninth-placed Tobago United.

In their last fixture, Defence Force registered their most convincing victory this season, mauling St Ann’s Rangers 5-1 on Tuesday, with two goals apiece from ex-national players Devon Jorsling and Michael Edwards.

Jorsling is currently second on the goal-scoring list with 11, and he will want to continue his success to re-stake his claim for national selection.

Tobago United - in the midst of their most successful Pro League campaign, have relied almost exclusively on their 33-year-old Guyanese captain Collie Hercules, who have notched eight goals this season.
