Kamla sends condolences to Lady Hochoy’s family

Persad-Bissessar said, “I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Lady Hochoy, the wife of this country’s first Governor General, Sir Solomon Hochoy.”

She added, “Lady Hochoy was a respected lady in our community, having been the founder of the Lady Hochoy Home and other organisations both religious and social.

“Her name and good works will live on in our hearts. On behalf of the UNC, my family and myself, may God bless and give the family of Lady Hochoy the strength to cope during this difficult time. Our prayers are with you,”Persad-Bissessar said.

Lady Hochoy died on Thursday after ailing from some time at the Living Waters L’Hospice on Warner Street, Port-of-Spain.

She was 99.
