Defence Force aim to stretch lead
The league leaders have stumbled lately, having drawn two out of their last three games, but will be seeking to keep an arm’s length over nearest challenges Caledonia if they can get full points over the struggling Rangers.
Dean Pacheco, a former Defence Force midfielder, have not been able to inject new life in the Rangers outfit, as the team has picked up two victories after 14 matches.
Another team with only two League wins under their belt is Police, and they have endured a topsy-turvy campaign under the guidance of Richard Hood.
But they will be looking to gain vital points when they meet the cellar-placed TTEC in the opening game at Macoya, from 5 pm.
Caledonia and Central FC will be inactive since they featured in last evening’s final of the FA Trophy competition.
In related news, Rangers and Police battled to a 3-3 draw in a rescheduled Round Two Match Day Six meeting at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva on Wednesday.
Marvin Lee netted a hat-trick for Rangers, scoring in the 13th, 49th and 67th minutes, while Noel Williams (53rd and 60th) and Kareem Perry (56th) responded for Police.
