Catherine Miller in National Costume wows her audience

Miller seems to be holding her own in the preliminary rounds, and although there is no official confirmation on her placement in the recent National Costume preliminary round, many blog sites have placed her in the top ten.

Designed by Douglas John of the Carnival band, Tribe, Miller’s national costume beautifully represents Trinidad and Tobago as the land of the Humming Bird and at the same time depicting the vibrancy of the Scarlet Ibis

The National Costume Show was held at the Vegas Mall in Moscow on November 3. The award for Best National Costume will be announced during the Miss Universe 2013 telecast on tomorrow.

The last time Trinidad and Tobago won Best National Costume was in 1998 when Wendy Fitzwilliam represented the country wearing a costume which was designed by Harts Mas Camp titled “Freedom”. She also brought home the Miss Universe title that year. The following year, the Miss Universe competition was hosted in Trinidad and Tobago.

According to Leah-Mari Guevera, Miss Trinidad & Tobago Universe Pageant coordinator, Miller is having a wonderful time at the pageant, and Tribe was very happy with the way in which she has been representing the country. The Miss Universe final pageant will be held at Crocus City Hall in Moscow on November 9.
