Teteron to Scotland Bay

The village expanded in the 1920s and 1930s with the construction of holiday homes. In 1941, the Chaguaramas peninsula was leased to the US government for the construction of an army base and all residents were required to leave. Although at the present the peninsula has reverted to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, there are no homes at Scotland Bay or roads to the bay.

The hike begins on an open road that gradual diminishes into a trail which is relatively flat with undulating terrain all the way to the bay. The emerald waters of the bay can be seen through the Peaking through the trail with the crackling light of the emerald water Bay below. The bay is backed by cliffs with sand and shingle beaches. The U shaped bay is very sheltered and so an excellent location for swimming and snorkeling and a fun filled day.

Meeting Point is the Brian Lara Promenade (Nicholas Towers), Port-of-Spain at 7 am.
