3 arrested for shooting gardener

The suspects, all of Rochard Road, Penal, were expected to be place on identification parades yesterday evening.

Once positively identified, police will lay charges and take them before a Siparia Magistrate.

A police report stated that on Tuesday, Ricky Gajadhar, 44, of Ramsubhag Trace, Barrackpore, was tending to crops in his garden located at Julian Branch Trace, off Penal Rock Road, Penal, when the men began shooting.

Gajadhar was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was treated and subsequently discharged. Over the weekend, police investigators of the Barrackpore Police Station conducted enquires and arrested the three suspects.

A motive is yet to be established for the shooting.
