AOI defends PM’s right to privacy

The party said the nation should be provided with, “an acceptable update,” on Rowley’s health, after all relevant assessments have been concluded .

In a statement, AOI political leader Nicole Dyer-Griffith said the party is disappointed about mere calls from certain quarters for “the identification of the Prime Minister’s illness and “unbecoming comments on social media” about Rowley’s health .

Dyer-Griffith, a former Congress of the People (COP) chairman and member of the now defunct People’s Partnership (PP) coalition, observed that similar negative and atrocious comments were made about former prime minister Kamla Persad- Bissessar when she also experienced bouts of illness. “Whilst we understand that the general political climate remains heavily partisan and generally negative, we encourage citizens to always see the bigger picture when it comes to patriotism and loyalty to country
