Relative to be charged for pensioner’s killing
On August 1, the former maxi taxi driver of Southern Main Road, Aripero suffered a fractured skull when a 43-year-old close male relative allegedly beat him on the head with a bolt cutter during an argument over money.
The relative, who was arrested soon after the incident, is expected to be charged with murder.
At about 7.30 pm on August 1, police officers responding to a report, went to Southern Main Road, Aripero where they found Seeteram bleeding profusely from the head outside his home.
He was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was treated and subsequently warded.
He underwent surgery on Tuesday but by Wednesday he succumbed to his injuries.
Seeteram’s wife, Merle, was also beaten and suffered injuries to her head, a broken arm and other lacerations about the body.
She remains warded in satisfactory condition at the San Fernando General Hospital. Cpl Seurattan is continuing investigations.
