Teen dies days after hit and run

According to reports, at about 7.30 am on Saturday, Burton purchased some doubles at a a meal at a doubles stand on Malabar Extension Road, near Pro Sports Bar. When he attempted to cross, he was struck by a black Honda Civic vehicle, which was driven by a 30-yearold man. He was rushed to the Arima District Health Facility, then transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Centre, where he spent four days in a critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit.

The accident was captured on video, which was later posted on social media platforms. In the video, Burton is seen trying to cross the road, which seemed to be wet from a rain shower . As he stepped out into the roadway, it seemed like he observed the vehicle speeding toward him, but as he attempted to get back out of the roadway and into safety, his foot slipped, leaving him flat-footed and unable to move.

The black Honda vehicle slammed into Bruton, flinging him several feet into the air.

He fell near a parked car, several feet away from where he was hit.
