CCJ lawsuit filed against Dominica

A press release issued by Douglas, who is a lawyer, said he had contracted with Jamaican artist management firm Heavy D Promotions Ltd for Tommy Lee Sparta to perform at a privately-owned entertainment venue in Dominica over 2 years ago to mark the opening of Portsmouth carnival.

However, on his arrival at Douglas/Charles airport in Dominica, Lee, 28, along with his three-member team, Tiasha Oralie Russell, Junior Fraser and Mario Christopher Wallace were denied entry, detained in what were described in court documents described as “inhumane conditions” and deported the following day. This caused the cancellation of the international stage show, financed by Douglas, giving rise to his monetary damages claims.
