Azmon back in court

The case was heard in the First Court by Magistrate Christine Charles, substituting for substantive Magistrate Indrani Cedeno.

The hearing will continue on October 12. Attorney Fareed Ali appeared for Alexander, while Kerri Honore-Narine introduced herself as prosecuting for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. A co-accused also appeared, but has not been publicly named due to concerns he may still be a minor.

As of yesterday, the court has had disclosure of at least 26 witness statements, plus three post-mortem certificates (Irma Rampersad, Felix Martinez and Shania Amoroso) and five medical reports.

The complainant for the murder charges is PC Ramoutar of the Homicide Unit, who was present yesterday, while the complainant for the kidnapping charges is Insp Gyan, who was absent.
