Stewart begins Paralymics campaign today
Stewart will be the 14th thrower to launch the spear against a quality field of the globe’s 16 best para-athletes. His personal best (pb) distance currently stands at 54.77 metres and is hoping to better his exploits when actions serves off today. Joining him in opening action today will be seasoned swimmer Shantol Ince. Ince is scheduled to compete in four swimming events and begins her quest with the women’s 400m freestyle s9, before facing the starter in the women’s 100m freestyle on Monday.
She will then test her sprinting ability in the women’s 50m freestyle s9 on Tuesday and then compete in the women’s 100m butterfly s9 on September 15. Meanwhile, track and field athlete Nyoshia Cain will compete in the t44 100-metre and t44 200m events. She begins her quest in the 200m event on September 14 and 15, before lining up in the 100m event on September 17.
