Borel wins gold for Americas Team

On this occasion Borel was not representing Trinidad and Tobago but competing for the Americas Team. Borel recorded a top throw of 17.61 metres on her third of four attempts which sealed gold for the TT athlete who competed in her fourth Olympic Games last month.

Earning silver was China’s Tianquian Guo with an effort of 17.53m while Frenchwoman Jessica Cerival copped bronze with a throw of 16.45m. The competing teams were France, Americas, China, Ukraine, Japan and a mixed international team.
