Holding area completed

A ministry release said the facility — a holding area — is to assist in maintaining the integrity of the immigration process and to treat passengers in a manner befitting the high standards expected at one of the main ports of entry into the country.

Immigration officers also underwent customer relations and sensitivity training geared towards improving interaction between border officials and the travelling public, the ministry said.

These are among ministry initiatives aimed at ensuring prompt service in an atmosphere of courtesy and professionalism, the statement added.
